I can move the cursor past the blockage using the arrow keys. Thanks! I just type BEFORE the text or if I tried to "delete" it, it just stays there & becomes unhighlighted. It has become so difficult to type and correct errors, it is driving me crazy.
If pressing the Insert key doesn't work for you, you may need to enable it as the shortcut key. I tried to do as suggested: Go into Tools>Options>Edit and check Typing replaces selection. Sometimes it won't. Sometimes it doesn't. And said amount can reach huge proportions. Can't Delete Text In Word 2010
